For example, it states that authors always have the right to go to a different publisher or rewrite their Acta publication if they so desire."We have no need to lock our authors into unfavourable contracts; we rather encourage distribution or revision", says Thomas Neidenmark, chair of Acta's editorial committee. "AUS's right to publish the work cannot be waived, but on the other hand, the author has complete freedom to do whatever he or she wants with it after publication." Looking at Creative Commons licenses AUS has also started looking at so-called Creative Commons licenses. These licenses are are a type of standardised terms and conditions which could facilitate and increase the digital distribution of the publisher's publications. "Such licenses are becoming increasingly common in the research community", says Thomas Neidenmark. "But if we introduce Creative Commons it will obviously be on a voluntary basis. Even if we as a publisher can see the great benefits, the researchers have to want it themselves." About 30 publications this year There will be about 30 publications this year - a number that Thomas Neidenmark hopes to surpass next year. "We feel that we have a renewed and deeper contact with the series editors, and I think they like our commitment to the development of AUS. We are simply looking forward to an even better 2013." Almost exactly one year has passed since the Stockholm University Library drew up new guidelines for AUS. Throughout the year, the working practices have been restructured, streamlined and opened up to new opportunities for distribution and impact. All publications are now published in full text in DiVA and printed on demand at cost price. The books can be bought in the library's own online shop, or through other online booksellers. Creative Commons thus makes it possible for creators who want to share their work to do so in full or in part. The creator chooses a license based on the desired permissions and restrictions for the work, after which he or she gets a license agreement that fits these preferences. The creator then inserts a mark along with a brief license text that specifies which license applies to the work. The issue of rebuilding the library for better adaptation to the particular needs of students for a good study environment has been discussed in recent years. The need for more and better study rooms is urgent. The premises must be adapted to changing working methods and the interior is worn. Students have complained about the worn environment that no longer meets their needs for a long time. Purpose To improve students' study and work environments. Group study rooms will be transformed into more efficient units with better ventilation and more functional furnishings. It should be easy to distinguish between the quiet and semi-quiet environments in the library's open spaces. To adapt the premises to new ways of working (such as the need for electricity for laptops). To use the library premises more efficiently. To create more flexible workspaces in order for patrons to get more light and space for working in groups. From June 11th you will not be able to renew Textbooks yourself via the website. Instead, you can send an email to the library and ask to renew your loans. From June 11th to August 15th, you cannot reserve Textbooks.  This is due to our library system not being capable of handling queues & holds while applying summer loans on all books. We apologize for any inconvenience. Researchers who need books that are out on loan during the summer have the opportunity to request interlibrary loans for books on loan. Interlibrary loans are ordered through "My pages" on our website's main page. From Monday, June 11th books ordered from the closed stacks will be retrieved once a day. Orders made before 9:30 will be available the same day. Orders placed after 9:30 will be available the next weekday. We are now up to more than 200 000 titles in all subject areas! E-books have really attracted attention in the media over the past year. It has primarily been about fiction in bookstores and public libraries. Here, at the university library, we have provided e-books to our users for more than a decade. The debate surrounding e-books is very much about all the technical restrictions that publishers use to prevent abuse.
