The Library as a place of study
The AlbaNova Library offers 60 study areas, both individual and
group areas. Nine study areas have computers with Internet
access.
The MathLab and Mathematica programs are available on all the
computers, as are Office and the SciFinder database.
There are two copiers which also function as printers and
scanners.
Borrowing
To borrow books from the AlbaNova Library you need a valid
library card from the University Library. More information about
borrowing can be found under the heading Borrow on the Library
website.
Books and journals not kept at the AlbaNova Library can be
borrowed from other libraries if you are a student, researcher,
lecturer or staff member at the AlbaNova University Centre. As
a student at AlbaNova, you are not eligible for interlibrary loans
of material that is available at a library in the greater Stockholm
area.
Interlibrary loans are requested using the form in the
right-hand column. Learn more about Interlibrary loans.
You are welcome to send your purchase suggestions to albanova@sub.su.se. Indicate
the title, author and publication year, and whether you want to
borrow the book when it arrives.
Collections Description
The AlbaNova library's books and journals are primarily in
the subject areas of physics and astronomy. Material can be
searched in the blue search box on the homepage of the website or
in the LIBRIS national library
database.
If you are searching in LIBRIS, you can narrow your search
to the AlbaNova library. Enter Hf in the library code
field.
The loan period is normally four weeks.
Printed journals may not be borrowed, but may be copied in
the library. You can find AlbaNova's printed journals in LIBRIS.
Alba Nova's library has its own textbook collection,
containing course literature in physics and astronomy. The loan
period for course literature is one week and the books may be
borrowed by Stockholm University and KTH students.
