The Library as a place of study
The Department of Social Work Library is a
partly autonomous branch library of Stockholm University
Library. We mainly provide services for the Department of Social
Work. Members of the public are welcome to borrow from the
part of the collection that is not course literature at the
Department of Social Work.
To borrow books from the Department of Social Work Library you
need a library
card from the University Library. You can find out all you
need to know about how to borrow items, loan periods and borrowing
rules.
The library has about 40 study areas, eight computer
workstations and access to wireless network, printers and copiers.
There are no group rooms.
Availability outside opening hours
If you are on the staff of the Department of Social Work, CHESS
or SoRAD, you may access the library outside opening hours if there
are staff library members on site. Otherwise, the library is
alarmed. Contact the
library if you want to access the library using your
access card.
Interlibrary loans
If you are a student, lecturer and/or researcher associated with
the Department of Social Work, CHESS or SoRAD, you may order books
and articles that are not available at Stockholm University
Library. However, as a student, you are not eligible for
interlibrary loans of material that is available at a library in
the greater Stockholm area.
Pricing and ordering, see Interlibrary
loans.

Collections Description
The library's collections reflect the fields of research and
activity referred to as "social work". The literature collection is
multidisciplinary and also covers topics that border on social
work, as well as literature on theory and method. The majority of
the material is available to everyone for home lending for a period
of 30 days.
The course literature is only lent out to students and staff at
Stockholm University. All literature on reading lists for
undergraduate and master's degrees at the Department of Social Work
counts as course literature. The library has three categories of
course lending: weekly, lecturer and daily.
Weekly loan - items can be borrowed for 7 days
by students, researchers and lecturers at Stockholm University.
Overdue fine SEK 10 per day.
Lecturer loan - items may only be borrowed by
lecturers at the department of social work. The loan period is 30
days.
Daily loan - items must be returned before
the library opens on the next business day. Use the drop-off
box if the library is closed. Overdue fine SEK 25 the first day,
then SEK 50 per day.
